Randa MacMillan, DVM
Dr. MacMillan received her DVM in 1981 from CSU. She has practiced in the Denver area since then. Dr. MacMillan bought Arapahoe Veterinary Hospital in 1990 which became part of the Firehouse family in 2008. She has held every office in the Denver Area Veterinary Medical Society (DAVMS), including the presidency. Dr. MacMillan is currently the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) District 6 Representative-Elect and is active in both Denver Pet Partners and Prescription Pets; both organizations provide pet visitations to hospitalized children and abused individuals. She is also actively involved with Guide Dogs for the Blind. She shares her life with her husband, their daughters and two black Labradors. Dr. MacMillan considers raising 2 wonderful, accomplished, productive, and caring young women her greatest accomplishment.
Mary Anne Smith, DVM
Dr. Smith is a Denver native. She majored in zoology before attending veterinary school, and she obtained her veterinary degree from CSU in 1978. She was a preceptor at the Denver Zoo for a short time and has practiced small animal or emergency medicine for the majority of her career. She has called Arapahoe Veterinary Hospital “home” since 1993. Dr. Smith is a member of the AVMA and the CVMA. She has a special interest in wildlife and enjoys gardening, hiking, camping, and bird watching. She shares her house with an assortment of birds, small mammals, and reptiles.
Cara Brannigan, DVM, CVA
Dr. Cara Brannigan received her DVM from The Ohio State University in 1999. She practiced small animal medicine on the Jersey Shore before venturing to Colorado. Dr. Brannigan is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist and a member of the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. She is also a member of multiple veterinary associations including the AVMA, CVMA and the DAVMS. Dr. Brannigan’s professional interests include surgery, internal medicine, and acupuncture. Her family includes two young sons, Aidan and Jack, two rescued collies, Galen and Archie, three geriatric cats named Levi, Maya, and Bonnie, as well as Peanut, the hooded rat. Dr. Brannigan believes strongly in treating all of her patients as she would treat her own family members, furry or otherwise.
Rosalie Jorgensen, DVM
Dr. Jorgensen is a South Dakota native who earned her DVM from Iowa State University. She has practiced small animal medicine since 1984, first in the Chicago area, and since 1997, in the Denver area. She enjoys working with clients and their pets of all ages and has a special interest in internal medicine. She is currently a member of the AVMA, CVMA and the DAVMS. Dr. Jorgensen lives with her husband, two daughters, and four cats.
